In 2022, VR MASTER was awarded a contract for the water plant automation upgrade project from Tata Steel Manufacturing (Thailand). The scope of supply includes equipment and software provision, engineering, installation, commissioning, and basic training on TIA Portal.

The new control system is based on Siemens S7-1500 with remote I/O modules ET200SP. Networking and control are implemented via Profinet, with HMI SCADA PCs including an iBA PC for fast diagnostic monitoring applications.

The upgraded automation system manages the filtration and backwash processes, scale pit operations, air compressors, and the start/stop functions of pumps supplying cold water to machinery and general plant water usage.
